John Ryan (JR) Koeijmans joined Stifel in 2019. Prior to Stifel, he worked at Merrill Lynch since 2009, most recently serving as First Vice President – Senior Financial Advisor. He co-founded the WK Group with Lance Whitworth at Merrill Lynch, drawing on each other’s strengths and unique skills in an effort to better serve clients. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, J.R. gained experience in the financial industry on Wall Street. He is committed to ongoing financial education and has attained the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor™ designation, which is administered by the College for Financial Planning. JR focuses on understanding clients’ wealth management needs and risk tolerance. It is through this understanding, along with Stifel’s global research and wide range of investment strategies, that he is able to build personalized portfolios that incorporate each stage of his clients’ financial future. He provides financial guidance to high-net-worth individuals, families, small businesses, trusts, and foundations by focusing on their values and what is most important to each of them.
JR earned a B.S. in Economics from Texas A&M University’s Business Economic Program. He also holds Series 7 (General Securities Representative) and 66 (Investment Advisor Representative) licenses, as well as life, health, and variable insurance licenses (including annuities). In 2020, JR was chosen to lead the Dallas Stifel office, serving as Branch Manager.
A native of Dallas, Texas, JR attended Jesuit College Preparatory, where he is an active member of the Dallas Jesuit Foundation Investment Committee. Prior to joining the Jesuit Investment Committee, JR served on the Jesuit Alumni Board. In 2022, JR was honored to join the Notre Dame School of Dallas Foundation Board. He is an avid Dallas and Texas A&M sports fan and enjoys spending time with his wife, Meghan, and daughters, Holland and Reese. He is an active member of the Lakewood Country Club and Dallas Petroleum Club, where he can be found golfing and enjoying a meal with family and friends.
